In Amethyst, the iron impurities are exposed to natural radiation, which gives the stone its violet or purple color. The name "Ametrine" is a combination of "Amethyst" and "Citrine," reflecting its dual nature. While Ametrine can technically be found in other parts of the world where quartz is present, such as Brazil, the quantity and quality of the stones from these locations are not comparable to those from Bolivia. The Anahi Mine remains the most significant source of commercial Ametrine, supplying the majority of the world’s demand for this rare gemstone.
