Angelite, also known as Anhydrite, is a mineral composed of anhydrous calcium sulfate (CaSO₄). It typically forms tabular, prismatic, or fibrous crystals. The mineral is often found in massive form and can have a variety of colors, although it is most commonly recognized for its pale blue hue. The name "Angelite" is a trade name given to the blue variety of Anhydrite. Angelite was first discovered in 1987 in Peru.

Angelite forms from the dehydration of gypsum. When gypsum is subjected to elevated temperatures and conditions where water is driven off, it transforms into anhydrite. This process often occurs in evaporite deposits, where the evaporation of seawater leaves behind concentrated layers of salts and minerals. Angelite can be found in various parts of the world, often in sedimentary basins with significant evaporite deposits. Some notable localities include: Peru, Germany, Mexico and Poland.
