Lepidolite occurs in granitic pegmatites, where it is associated with other lithium minerals, like Beryl and Topaz. Lepidolite is colored by Manganese in its chemical structure. Lepidolite is mined as a source of lithium. Lithium is a soft, silvery, alkali metal with the lowest density of all metals.
