Trolleite

Trolleite is a rare mineral primarily composed of sodium, aluminum, and phosphate. Its usually found as an inclusion in Quartz and is often associated with other phosphate minerals like Augelite, Apatite, Lazulite, Montebrasite and Scorzalite. Dark blue Trolleite is typically colored by inclusions of Lazulite. This rare mineral is found in only found in a few localities in Sweden, Russia, Austria, and Brazil.

Trolleite was named after Johan August Trolle, a Swedish mineralogist from the 19th century. Trolle made important contributions to the understanding of Swedish minerals, and in recognition of his work, this fascinating blue mineral was named after him.
