Maw Sit Sit
Maw Sit Sit is a rare metamorphic rock often confused with Jade. Maw Sit Sit was discovered in 1964 by Swiss gemologist Eduard J. Gübelin. Maw Sit Sit is found exclusively in northern Myanmar, at the foothills of the Himalayas near the historic imperial Jadeite mines of northern Myanmar. Maw Sit Sit contains Albite, Chromian Eckermannite, Kosmochlor, Chromite and Natrolite. Most of these minerals contain chromium, creating this beautiful bright green color. Maw Sit Sit is composed of about 60% Kosmochlor and is the rock's primary source of its gorgeous emerald green color and dark green-black patches.
