Sedona Vortex

Sedona Vortex Guide: What is a Vortex, the Sites and Energy

Energy vortexes are found across the globe from the Pyramids in Egypt, Stone Henge in England, Machu Picchu in Peru, Uluru in Australia, the Himalayan Mountains, and Sedona in the United States. Sedona is considered one of the top ten sacred sites on planet Earth because of its powerful energy vortexes.

Energy vortexes are found by tracing energy lines, known as "Ley Lines", to find points of intersection. Ley lines are invisible channels of electromagnetic energy forming a grid across the Earth. Ley lines show a connection between large monuments, spiritual sites, and rock mining areas. Energy flows through these lines, forming a vortex where ley lines meet. Energy healers and spiritualists travel to these sacred sites to experience their transformative and healing energy.

These energetic pathways have various names across the globe like "Dragon Veins" in Chinese culture, "Spirit Lines" in South America, "Holy Lines" in Germany to name a few.

In the United States, ley lines intersect forming energy vortexes at Bighorn Medicine Wheel in Wyoming, Sedona Arizona, and Mount Shasta in California.

What is an energy vortex?

There are places around the world known as an energy vortex, where energy is concentrated at a specific point. The energy vortex has a swirling energy field that moves up or down in a cone-like pattern. This spiraling energy enters down into the Earth or projects upward from the earth's plane.

Vortexes are categorized into “feminine” (energy entering the earth) and “masculine” (energy coming out of the earth).

Although the vortex is not visible to the eye, many experience sensations like a tingling, goosebumps or a noticeable shift in your overall energy. Meditation at these sites is enhanced and can allow you to experience higher levels of consciousness.

Energy vortexes have a transformative energy that brings emotional, physical & spiritual healing, enlightenment and self-discovery.

The vortex energy calls in those who are ready quantum leap in spiritual development and receive the Earth's healing energy. Native Americans believe spiritual transformation can occur more easily and faster in Sedona because the veils to other dimensions are thinner there.

Vortex Sites

Sedona has seven main vortex points: Airport Mesa, Bell Rock, Boynton Canyon, Cathedral Rock, Chapel of Holy Cross, Courthouse Butte and Schnebly Hill Road. There are also many other vortex sites, some of which are kept secret by locals as they are sacred spaces. Some even consider the entire town of Sedona to be an energy vortex. The red sandstone rocks are said to emit powerful energy partly also due to their high concentration of magnetic iron.

When visiting the vortex sites, you will likely see people meditating, practicing yoga and energy healing. It’s said that the junipers around vortexes are twisted because of the energy.

I am excited to share my experiences at the public vortex sites with you! If you visit, you will want to stay for at least a week to hit all the vortex sites. Some of them do involve a several mile hike. I would recommend planning for no more than two vortex sites per day so you can enjoy the energy at each location.

We also had the opportunity to experience several "secret" vortex sites, known only by locals. When you visit a sacred space like this, its very important to honor the space and not share its location in any way, including photography/video.
