Charoite is a rare mineral that is only found in Siberia, Russia, near the Chara River, of which it's named after. Charoite is believed to have formed during the Mesoproterozoic era, around 1.6 billion years ago. Charoite is known for its vibrant, royal purple color filled with beautiful swirls and a pearly lustre. The beautiful purple color is caused by the presence of trace amounts of potassium, calcium, and sodium in the mineral’s chemical composition. Higher quality Charoite has a beautiful chatoyancy and is much harder to obtain. Charoite is a newer find in the mineral world! It wasn't discovered until the 1940s. Charoite is only found in rocks in combination with other minerals, which are known as “Charoitite”. No specimens of pure Charoite have been found. Charoite is generally found in combination with variety of minerals like aegirine, microcline, and other silicate minerals. Charoite is typically cut and polished into cabochons, beads, and other jewelry pieces to showcase its vibrant colors and intricate patterns.

Charoite is known as the “Stone of Transformation” for its powerful ability to active and enhance your spiritual (or intuitive) gifts.
