Dumortierite is a fibrous, aluminium boro-silicate mineral named after French paleontologist, M. Eugene Dumortier and was discovered in 1881 by F. Gonnard in Chaponost, France. Dumortierite forms in aluminous metamorphic rocks; in pegmatites and in found in the USA, France, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Madagascar, Canada, Namibia and Russia.
Dumortierite is a beautiful mineral that helps to awaken and enhance your spiritual gifts. It is a great stone to work with for both beginners to awaken their spiritual gifts and those who are further along on their spiritual journey. I highly recommend meditating with Dumortierite if you are experiencing a block, it can be helpful for helping you find new idea or perspective and also helps to calm the mind to receive guidance.

Care: Avoid prolonged exposure to heat (or extreme heat), direct sunlight and contact with abrasive surfaces or chemicals. Remove before contact sports, weight lifting or activities where it may come into contact with force. As always, it should be stored away from minerals higher on the MOHs scale.
