Strawberry Quartz is the trade name for a variety of Quartz (SiO2) with a striking red sparkle due to the presence of mineral inclusions of Hematite or Goethite. Strawberry Quartz was originally known as "Scarlet Quartz" and used in the late nineteenth century to describe thin red Hematite included Quartz from the iron mines of Cumbria, England.
