Meditation is an ancient practice used for thousands of years that harmonizes the body, mind and spirit through simple techniques. The word meditation is derived from the Latin word "meditatum" which means “to ponder". According to ancient Vedic text, the purpose of meditation is to connect to the inner self. A regular meditation practice will help you become more grounded and present in your life.  Thousands of scientific studies have shown that meditation can improve mental and physical health.

Meditation has long been used as a gateway to higher levels of consciousness. Through stillness and focused awareness, meditation allows you to move beyond the surface layers of the mind and access a deeper state of knowing. In these quieter states, you begin to connect with your Higher Self, the aspect of you that holds clarity, wisdom, and remembrance beyond conditioning and distraction.

This connection invites a remembering of who you came here to be. As the mind softens and the body relaxes, intuition becomes clearer and inner guidance more accessible. Meditation creates the space to hear that guidance, to realign with your soul’s truth, and to return to your path with greater awareness and purpose. Over time, this practice becomes a bridge between the human experience and the higher realms of consciousness you carry within.

How to Meditate

Meditation does not require experience, long sessions, or a quiet mind. At its foundation, meditation is the practice of bringing awareness to the present moment. Begin by sitting or lying down comfortably. Gently close your eyes and take a few slow breaths, allowing the body to settle.

Choose a simple point of focus such as your breath, a word or phrase, or the sensation of your body resting. When thoughts arise, notice them without judgment and return your awareness to your chosen focus. There is no need to force stillness. Each return to presence is the practice.

You may begin with just a few minutes and gradually extend your time as it feels natural. What matters most is your willingness to return to yourself.

Step-by-Step (5 minutes)

  1. Find a quiet place where you feel safe and comfortable.

  2. Sit or lie down and relax your shoulders and jaw.

  3. Breathe slowly in and out through your nose.

  4. Choose an anchor: breath, a word, or crystal.

  5. When your mind wanders, notice it and return to your anchor.

  6. Close by taking one deeper breath and gently opening your eyes.

Creating a Meditation Practice

A meditation practice is built through consistency and intention, not pressure. Choose a time of day that feels supportive, such as the morning before the day begins or the evening as you wind down. Practicing at the same time each day helps your body and energy recognize the rhythm of stillness.

Over time, meditation becomes less of something you schedule and more of a space where you meet your Higher Self. With each return to stillness, awareness deepens, intuition strengthens, and the connection to your soul’s guidance becomes clearer.

With continued practice, meditation becomes self-care treat rather than a task. It is a space where guidance arises naturally and where the distractions of the external world softens. In these moments of stillness, you strengthen trust in your own awareness and remember the deeper truth of who you are beyond roles, expectations, and distraction. This remembering is what allows meditation to support not only your spiritual growth, but the way you move through your life.

Meditation benefits

Regular meditation has been widely studied and is associated with a range of supportive benefits for overall wellbeing. These may include improved nervous system regulation, lower stress levels, and increased emotional resilience. Many people experience greater clarity, improved focus and memory, enhanced self-awareness, and a deeper sense of inner calm.

Meditation is also commonly used as a supportive practice for relaxation, improved sleep, stress reduction, and cultivating emotional balance. Over time, consistent practice can support a greater sense of presence, self trust, and overall quality of life.

Important Note:

Meditation and energy or crystal-based practices are complementary wellness approaches and are not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding any physical or mental health concerns.

Types of Meditation

1. Mindfulness Meditation

In a mindfulness meditation, you focus your awareness on your breath and notice when your mind wanders. The practice of returning your focus to your breath strengthens your ability to focus your attention. Pay attention to thoughts and emotions that arise during this practice without judging them.

2. Guided Meditation

A guided meditation is a great form of meditation for beginners. In this kind of meditation, you will listen to a teacher who will guide you through the process.

3. Bath/Shower Meditation

This is one of my favorite ways to meditate. Meditating in the bath helps activate your parasympathetic nervous system which helps your body rest and digest. There are a few ways you can enjoy a bath or shower meditation. You can practice mindfulness, focusing on your breath and bathing. You can also visualize your energy being cleansed with any energy not meant for you being washed away.

4. Walking Meditation

Intention setting is a practice of connecting with a particular crystal for a desired outcome. This practice is also sometimes referred to as “charging”, “dedicating a crystal” or “programming a crystal”. Set a specific intention with the crystal by speaking your intention for the crystal out loud or write it on a piece of paper. Visualize the crystal filling with pure light healing energy and this light shining your intentions out into the world in all directions. Give thanks or gratitude your connection with the crystal and its energy.

5. Body Scan Meditation

The more often you work with your wand, the deeper your connection with it will be. Regular practice with your wand will enhance your healing work and manifesting rituals.

Meditation Tips

Choose a quiet space where you feel safe, comfortable, and undisturbed. This could be a dedicated meditation corner, your bed, a favorite chair, or a peaceful spot outdoors. Feeling at ease in your environment allows the body to relax and the mind to settle more easily.

Wear comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movement or breathing. Soft, loose fabrics help your body release tension and support deeper relaxation during your practice.

Create consistency rather than perfection. Meditating at the same time each day helps your body and mind recognize when it is time to slow down. Even a few minutes of regular practice can be more supportive than longer, inconsistent sessions.

Begin with the breath. If you ever feel unsure how to start, return to your breathing. Slow, steady breaths signal safety to the nervous system and naturally guide awareness into the present moment.

Allow the experience to unfold. Meditation does not need to feel calm or peaceful to be effective. Restlessness, emotion, and wandering thoughts are part of the process. Notice what arises without trying to change it.

Use gentle anchors. If the mind feels busy, give it something simple to rest on such as the breath, a mantra, a crystal held in the hand, or a soft point of focus. Anchors help steady attention without force.

Release expectations. Each meditation session will feel different. Avoid measuring success by how quiet the mind becomes. Presence, not silence, is the intention.

Support the body. Adjust your posture as needed. You may sit, lie down, or meditate while moving. Comfort allows the nervous system to relax and the mind to follow.

Transition slowly. When your meditation ends, take a few moments before returning to activity. Stretch, breathe, or journal to help integrate the experience into your day.

Stay curious and kind with yourself. Meditation is a relationship you build over time. Approach your practice with patience, self compassion, and openness.
