Nellite is a stone that forms from the natural fusion of blue and yellow Tiger’s Eye and Pietersite. Nellite is a rare gemstone found in Namibia and South Africa.

Tiger’s Eye is a variety of quartz with inclusions of iron oxide, which creates its distinct golden and brown colors. The blue Tiger’s Eye variation is a result of the mineral's unique formation, where the iron oxide takes on a bluish tint, producing a more vibrant and mystical look. Tiger’s Eye forms when fibrous crocidolite (an asbestos mineral) is replaced by silica over time. This process results in the silky, chatoyant appearance that Tiger’s Eye is known for. Pietersite is a variety of chalcedony (a form of quartz) that contains iron and cobalt inclusions, creating its swirling bands of blue, gold, and brown. The dynamic patterns in Pietersite are often described as resembling a storm. Pietersite is formed when fibrous crocidolite undergoes alteration and is replaced by quartz, creating the swirling and chaotic appearance that is unique to Pietersite.
