Enchanting Prehnite

Prehnite Meaning and Healing Properties

Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral that belongs to the phyllosilicate group. Prehnite often occurs with smooth, rounded or bubbly, grape-like formations known as botryoidal or as stalactites in caves. Prehnite was named in 1788 by Abraham Gottlieb Werner in honor of the Dutch Colonel, Hendrik Von Prehn, who is credited with discovering the mineral in 1774 at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. Prehnite is found in Mali, South Africa, Namibia, Australia, China, and the USA. It is often found associated with minerals such as calcite, quartz, and zeolites.

Prehnite commonly forms in hydrothermal veins where hot, mineral-rich fluids percolate through cracks and fractures in rocks, depositing Prehnite crystals. It can also form during low-grade metamorphism of basaltic rocks or in association with other metamorphic minerals such as epidote and chlorite. Prehnite may also occur as a secondary mineral in the cavities of igneous rocks or in association with zeolites in volcanic rocks.

Prehnite is a stone of healing, rejuvenation, serenity and spiritual awareness. Its gentle energies resonate with the heart chakra, opening pathways for unconditional love and compassion. Prehnite soothes emotional wounds and nurtures inner peace, creating a sanctuary of serenity within your soul. It facilitates deep meditation and spiritual attunement, allowing you to receive guidance from angels, spirit guides, and divine/source. Prehnite restores equilibrium to the body, mind, and spirit, promoting overall well-being and vitality. Its a must-have crystal for healers to rejuvenate and restore the body after healing sessions.
