Tsavorite is the trade name for the emerald-green variety of Grossular Garnet. Tsavorite Garnets are one of the most popular and expensive forms of Garnet.

Tsavorite Garnet is named after the Tsavo East National Park in Kenya, and was first discovered in Tanzania in 1967. Tsavorite Garnets are colored by traces of vanadium and chromium within the crystal structure. Tsavorite Garnets are typically sourced from their primary deposits in Tanzania, Kenya, and Madagascar.

Humans have been enchanted with Garnets for more than 5,000 years, dating back to the Bronze Age. Garnets are a large group of rock-forming silicate minerals. They are found all over the world in metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary rocks. Cleaning: Warm soapy water is safe for cleaning garnets. Ultrasonic cleaner is usually safe except for stones that have fractures. Steam cleaning is not recommended.
