Tsavorite is the trade name for the emerald-green variety of Grossular Garnet. Tsavorite Garnet is one of the most popular and expensive forms of Garnet. Its composed of aluminum, iron, and silicate, with its formula being (Fe3Al2(SiO4)3). This composition gives Tsavoite Garnet its distinct greenish-yellow to golden hues, which can range from bright, almost neon green to warm yellowish-green shades, depending on its specific mineral content and trace elements.
Tsavorite Garnet is named after the Tsavo East National Park in Kenya, and was first discovered in Tanzania in 1967. Tsavorite Garnets are colored by traces of vanadium and chromium within the crystal structure. Tsavorite Garnets are typically sourced from their primary deposits in Tanzania, Kenya, and Madagascar.
Tsavoite Garnet, like other members of the garnet group, forms in high-temperature, high-pressure environments deep within the Earth. Tsavoite is typically found in metamorphic rocks, where heat and pressure cause the crystallization of minerals from existing rocks. This crystallization process takes place over millions of years, during which the mineral’s distinctive color and composition take shape.
Humans have been enchanted with Garnets for more than 5,000 years, dating back to the Bronze Age. Garnets are a large group of rock-forming silicate minerals. They are found all over the world in metamorphic, igneous, and sedimentary rocks. Most Garnets form in volcanic environments when aluminum-rich sedimentary rocks like shale are subject to intense heat and pressure. The Garnet group consists of several different species including: Almandine, Andradite, Grossular, Pyrope, Spessartine and Uvarovite.
Garnet is the modern & traditional January birthstone and is the second anniversary stone. Garnet is derived from the Greek word “granatum” after its striking resemblance to the seeds in a pomegranate. Much of what has been recorded in history refers to red Garnets because they are the most common. Prior to the modern gem testing equipment, Green Garnets could have been mistaken for other stones.
Tsavorite Garnets have a beautiful energy that brings growth, gratitude, renewal and rebirth. Attract abundance and success in new business opportunities with Tsavorite Garnet. Tsavorite Garnets have a strong magnet energy that helps you align with the frequency of what you are trying to attract. They help you bridge the gap between your heart's desires and the healing work needed to get there. Tsavorite Garnets are extremely soothing and healing for the immune system. They are great to wear for overall healing and reducing allergies & inflammation.
