Scarabs were used in ancient Egypt as talismans, symbols of protection, resurrection and manifestation. Ancient Egyptians adored Scarabs for good luck, using them in blessings and magical spells.
Scarabs were associated with the divine manifestation of the sun, Khepri, the god of the morning sun. Khepri was considered an aspect of the sun and creator god, Ra, one of the most important gods in the Egyptian pantheon. As the sun was believed to be reborn each day, the scarab was associated with regeneration and rolling dung balls symbolized the sun’s daily journey across the sky. Scarabs appear very often in hieroglyphs, statues, jewelry and sculptures as an amulet for protection against disease and death. When placed near the dead it meant they could attain resurrection and eternal life.

Moonstone is the traditional birthstone for June and can be used as the 12th anniversary stone in place of Alexandrite. Moonstone is a sodium potassium aluminium silicate mineral. Moonstones come in a variety of colors ranging from colorless to gray, brown, yellow, green, or pink. Moonstone is one of the most well-known members of the Feldspar group of minerals. Moonstone is composed of two Feldspar species: Orthoclase and Albite.
As the mineral cools during its formation, the intergrowth of Orthoclase and Albite separate into stacked, alternating layers. As light hits between these thin, flat layers, it scatters in many directions producing the phenomenon called adularescence or schiller. The mineralogy of Moonstone can vary depending on the location where it is found. Moonstone is found in various locations around the world. The most significant source of Moonstone is in Sri Lanka. Other notable sources of Moonstones include India, Myanmar, Madagascar, and the United States.
