Pure beryl is colorless, however, inclusions within the mineral cause beryl to form in a variety of colors. Thulite is the pink variety of the mineral Zoisite; colored by the element Manganese in its composition. Thulite was first discovered in 1820 and was named after the ancient name of Scandinavia, “Thule”. It is the national stone of Norway.
