Hackmanite is an extremely rare form of fluorescent Sodalite that contains sulfur. It exhibits tenebrescence, the ability of minerals to change color when exposed to sunlight. Hackmanite is a pale to deep violet when it's mined, but quickly fades to a gray or greenish white color when exposed to sunlight. When placed in a dark place, the violet color will come back over time. When exposed to sunlight the color change will happen in minutes to lighten up and will also glow when exposed to a UV light. The color change process can be repeated indefinitely but will lose its ability to change color if exposed to extreme heat.
