Mookaite Jasper is a variety of jasper, a type of chalcedony that falls within the quartz family. Unlike Clear Quartz, Jasper is opaque and comes in a wide range of colors and patterns. Mookaite Jasper is particularly recognized for its stunning combination of earthy colors, which range from rich yellows, deep reds, purples, and browns. The iron content in Mookaite Jasper is responsible for its yellow, red, and brown hues, while trace elements such as manganese contribute to the purples and pinks often seen in the stone. It often features banding or mottling, creating a unique pattern that makes each piece distinct.

The name Mookaite Jasper comes from the Mooka Creek in Western Australia, where this particular type of Jasper was first discovered. The word "jasper" itself is derived from the Greek word "iaspis," which means "spotted stone." This term is fitting, as Mookaite often has mottled or banded patterns that resemble spots or waves of color. The term “Mookaite” is used specifically to describe the variety of Jasper found in the Mooka Creek region.

Jasper is the name for a brightly colored, solid or patterned, opaque microcrystalline quartz. Flint and Chert are also names for opaque microcrystalline quartz but these have muted or neutral colors. Stones used to make tools were typically called Flint. Jasper has an enchanting history and beloved for thousands of years for its protective and healing properties. It has been found in archaeological sites dating back to the Neolithic period (7000–1700 BCE).

Fit: Micro faceted bracelets are on wire band that is not stretchy and measure up to approximately 7.5 inches long (using the extender).  You will receive one intuitively selected bracelet of your size selection.  Colors and pattern will vary slightly.
